The Refuse Collector plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our communities. This position involves operating refuse collection vehicles, ensuring the efficient and safe collection of waste materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for adhering to safety protocols while providing excellent service to residents.

6:45 AM - 5:15 PM
Responsibilities
- Operate refuse collection vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collect waste from residential and commercial properties according to scheduled routes.
- Ensure that all refuse is properly loaded and secured for transport.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members and the public regarding collection schedules and any issues encountered during collection.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on duty, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in the training of new staff members as required.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred.
- Ability to operate large vehicles safely and efficiently, with a valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in following routes and schedules.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and the public effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy loads as required during refuse collection activities.
This position is essential for ensuring our communities remain clean and safe, making it an important role within our organisation.
Must have Cat C License and in date CPC
