Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Sous chef with a real passion for food to join our team. Cripps and Co are renowned for cooking over fire and using French Rotisseries. The ideal candidate will have excellent kitchen skills, and a keen eye for detail. Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support the team in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Help with organising ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment
- Participate in food plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
- Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen during service hours
- Supervise junior staff and trainees as required, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations
- Assist in managing stock levels and ordering supplies when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen environments
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous supervisory or team management experience is desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide junior team members
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service and teamwork
