Refrigeration / Chiller Service Engineer

Hours: Full-time, plus on-call rota (1 week in 6)
Salary: £30,000–£38,000 depending on experience, plus company van with personal use, on-call allowance and overtime
About us
Evolution Cooling is a Birmingham-based chiller engineering and process cooling specialist. We provide chiller sales, hire, service and maintenance to industrial and commercial clients - manufacturing, injection moulding, breweries, food production, data centres and more. We offer 24/7 emergency breakdown support, with our core service area within a 70-mile radius of Birmingham.
We're expanding our engineering team and looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join us.
The role
Field-based service and maintenance work across our client sites. You'll be diagnosing faults, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and responding to breakdowns on process and comfort cooling systems - from small process chillers up to large industrial plant.
Key responsibilities
- Planned preventative maintenance and F-Gas checks on chiller plant
- Fault diagnosis and repair on process and comfort cooling systems
- Emergency breakdown response
- Commissioning and re-commissioning work
- Completing service reports and maintaining accurate job records
- Participating in the on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency support (1 week in 6)
- Representing Evolution Cooling professionally on customer sites
Essential
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Proven experience servicing and repairing chillers or commercial/industrial refrigeration plant
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to participate in the on-call rota
- Able to work independently on customer sites
Desirable
- Experience with process cooling in manufacturing environments
- Electrical qualifications (17th/18th Edition)
- Experience with glycol systems, water chillers, or heat pumps
- IPAF / PASMA / CSCS
