Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, and shipping and receiving processes. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely within the warehouse, including loading and unloading goods from lorries.
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery, subject to relevant training and certification.
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring items meet quality standards.
- Organising stock storage areas through effective stocking techniques to optimise space utilisation.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling.
- Conducting regular quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods.
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times within the warehouse environment.
- Supporting team members with general warehouse duties as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable, particularly in materials handling, picking & packing, or stock management.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous; relevant certification will be provided if necessary.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is preferred but not essential; training will be available.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking around the warehouse is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining safety standards is important for success in this role.
Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
