An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior to join its expanding audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified auditor who enjoys working with a varied client portfolio and wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive environment with genuine career progression.
The successful candidate will take ownership of audit assignments, build strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting and developing junior members of the team.
The Role
- Lead audit assignments from initial planning through to final completion.
- Work with a broad portfolio of businesses across a range of sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the audit process.
- Review the work of junior colleagues, providing guidance, mentoring and constructive feedback.
- Work closely with senior members of the team to ensure assignments are delivered on time and to a high professional standard.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the ongoing development of the audit function.
- Keep up to date with technical and regulatory developments within the profession.
- Travel to client sites across the North East and Yorkshire when required.
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Previous experience working in an audit-focused role within an accountancy practice.
- Confident managing audit assignments and balancing multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop lasting client relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Comfortable using a range of accounting and audit software, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client locations.
- Desirable Experience
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
- Exposure to cloud accounting platforms and modern audit software.
- Knowledge of specialist sectors such as charities, education or professional services would be advantageous.
