Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes are prepared to specification, consistently high in quality, and presented attractively.
- Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and plating techniques to maintain excellence in culinary standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery during busy periods.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent team management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
- Experience in food production, menu planning, and maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
