Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing food, serving customers, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic retail environment. The successful applicant will be organised, attentive to detail, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Hours - 16hrs - 2 x 8hr shifts includes alternate weekends more hours will be available covering holidays and sickness.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of hot & cold foods.
- Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner at the counter
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area in accordance with food safety standards
- Ensure all food items are stored correctly and labelled appropriately
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Restock shelves and display units as needed throughout the shift
- Assist with general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or catering is desirable but not essential, full training will be given.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with customers
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Pay: £13.02-£13.81 per hour
