Diesel Automotive Group Ltd is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 C+E Tramper Driver to join our transport operation based in Oldbury.
This is PAYE work with regular tramping available for the right driver. The work involves HGV Class 1 driving, container movements, customer collections and deliveries, overnight stays in the vehicle, and completing all required paperwork and compliance checks properly.
We are looking for a driver who takes pride in the job, looks after the truck, communicates properly, and understands the importance of tachograph, drivers’ hours, working-time and vehicle defect compliance.
Pay
- £16.00 -18.00 per authorised paid hour
- £26.20 per genuine sleeper-cab night out
- Typical take-home roughly £900–£1,000 per week including night-out money
- Discretionary performance/compliance bonus may be available
- PAYE only — no LTD company drivers
The typical take-home figure is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Actual take-home pay depends on hours worked, work available, tax code, National Insurance, pension position, deductions, completed night-outs and any discretionary bonus.
Duties
- Driving HGV Class 1 / C+E vehicles
- Tramping work with overnight stays
- Container haulage and general transport work
- Completing daily vehicle walkaround checks
- Reporting defects immediately
- Completing PODs and delivery paperwork correctly
- Following customer, depot, port and site rules
- Using tachograph equipment correctly
- Complying with drivers’ hours and working-time rules
- Looking after the vehicle, equipment and fuel card
- Maintaining good communication with the office
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid digital tachograph card
- Right to work in the UK
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph rules
- Good communication and reliability
- Professional attitude towards customers and site staff
- Ability to complete paperwork and vehicle checks properly
Experience with container work is preferred but not essential for the right driver.
Non-UK driving licences may be considered if the driver has the correct HGV entitlement, valid CPC/tachograph card, right to work in the UK, and meets DVLA/insurance requirements.
