We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with MOT standards
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Service ,Brakes , Tyres , Clutch ,Suspension and Timing Belts
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out diagnostics, repairs, and adjustments
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards
- Document all work carried out accurately and maintain detailed records of vehicle inspections and repairs
- Assist with vehicle safety checks, fluid level assessments, tyre replacements, brake inspections, and other essential maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the workshop environment
Experience
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a solid understanding of vehicle systems and repairs
- Previous experience conducting MOT tests is highly desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine tasks
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle repair or MOT testing are advantageous but not mandatory
