Head Chef
The Plume of Feathers, Crondall
The Plume of Feathers is an established and well-loved village pub in the heart of Crondall, known for its warm atmosphere, strong community following, quality drinks offering and fresh food.
We are now looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our small kitchen team and continue delivering the high standards our customers have come to expect.
This is a hands-on role within a small, supportive team. We serve fresh food all day focusing on quality pub classics, seasonal specials and consistently good service.
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys being part of a proper village pub environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
- Calm and organised during busy services
- High standards of cleanliness, presentation and consistency
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen management
- Excellent attitude and leadership skills
- Polite, kind and respectful manner with both guests and colleagues
- Passion for fresh food and hospitality
- Ability to work independently and lead a small kitchen team confidently
The role includes:
- Running day-to-day kitchen operations
- Ordering and stock control
- Maintaining food hygiene and HACCP standards
- Managing prep and kitchen organisation
- Working alongside management on menu ideas and specials
- Leading by example during service
What we offer:
- Salary: £36,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
- Approximately £5,000 per year in tips
- Full-time permanent position
