We are looking for 2 new members to join our growing Assistive Technology (AT) team; helping people improve their independence, communication and quality of life through innovative assistive technology solutions.
What You'll Do
Working closely with individuals, families, care teams, local authorities and NHS professionals, you'll assess needs, recommend and implement assistive technology solutions, and provide training and ongoing support. You'll regularly review and adapt technologies to ensure they continue to meet changing needs and help individuals achieve their goals.
Activity
- Conduct person-centred assistive technology assessments.
- Recommend, implement and review Technology Enabled Care (TEC) solutions.
- Deliver Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and communication technologies.
- Support the use of smart home and environmental control technologies, including voice-controlled devices.
- Set goals with individuals and adapt solutions as needs change over time.
- Deliver training to individuals, families, support staff and colleagues.
- Liaise with Local Authorities, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and NHS professionals.
- Provide ongoing support and contribute to assistive technology best practice.
About You
Experience in delivering home automation and environmental Assistive technologies is essential for this role.
You will also have:
- Experience in Technology Enabled Care (TEC), Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or a similar specialist support environment
- Experience researching, assessing, implementing and supporting assistive technology solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
- Experience with access methods, mounting solutions and sensory equipment.
- Ability to assess individual needs and identify appropriate technology solutions.
- Experience delivering training to end users and support teams.
- Excellent communication and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
