SPORTS REHABILITATION / PHYSIOTHERAPY PRACTITIONER-RESEARCHER (MRES)
Applied practitioner role in partnership with St Mary’s University (2026/27)
Salary: £9,250 per annum (pro rata to FTE £27,995)
MRes – self funded by the successful candidate – the salary is expected to cover the full tuition costs
Guildford High School, ranked the top school for female sport in the country by School Sport magazine (2023–24), is seeking an ambitious postgraduate MRes student as a Sports Rehabilitation / Physiotherapy Practitioner-Researcher in partnership with St Mary’s University.
This role combines applied clinical practice within a school performance environment with the completion of a post-graduate research degree.
The successful candidate will support the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of injury across a range of sports and age groups, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the school’s PE Department. The role is primarily designed to support the GHS Aspiring Athlete Programme, which is made up of the school’s top student-athletes aged 13–18, many of whom compete at national or international level.
Alongside this applied role, the candidate will be enrolled at St Mary’s University, where they will design and deliver an independent research project under academic supervision, aligned with athlete health, performance, and wellbeing.
The position will run from September 2026 to July 2027, aligned with both the Guildford High School academic year and the academic calendar of St Mary’s University.
The successful candidate will be contracted by Guildford High School for 16 hours per week, term time only. Salary is £9,250 per annum (pro rata to the full time equivalent of £27,995). The successful candidate will self-fund their tuition fees - the salary is expected to cover the tuition costs.
