Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Labourer / Driver to support a refrigeration engineering team as a Mate. This role involves assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as transporting materials and equipment to various sites. The ideal candidate will have an interest in or experience in mechanical, construction or electrical and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the refrigeration and HVAC industry while contributing to vital infrastructure projects.
Bournemouth and surrounding areas (travel to sites across the South of England)
Duties
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration units and air conditioning systems following schematics and technical instructions.
- Operate company vehicles safely to transport tools, equipment, and materials between sites.
- Support senior engineers with equipment repairs and troubleshooting tasks on-site.
- Contribute to construction activities related to refrigeration projects, including site preparation and assembly tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times.
- Assist with lifting heavy components and manoeuvring equipment around work sites as required.
- Support the team in routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of refrigeration systems.
Requirements
- Previous construction experience or practical knowledge of mechanical systems is highly desirable but not a must.
- Ability to operate equipment repair tools and perform minor repairs under supervision.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Valid driving licence; experience in driving commercial vehicles preferred.
- Good physical fitness for manual handling tasks and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to refrigeration engineering and maintenance practices.
