Step Into Teaching is working with a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Chesterfield to recruit a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant for September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who wants to develop valuable experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs while making a genuine difference to their confidence, development and education.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
Your role may include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Helping students engage with lessons and activities.
- Encouraging communication, confidence and independence.
- Supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Helping students develop social and life skills.
- Using creative and practical activities to encourage learning.
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines.
- Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.

Previous experience with children or SEND is desirable but not essential. Experience through tutoring, mentoring, childcare, youth work, volunteering, care work or coaching would be highly valued.
