Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales
- Greet customers warmly and help them locate items around the store.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, process cash and card payments, and handle returns.
- Actively promote special offers, loyalty programs, and upsell products to boost revenue.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints quickly and politely.
Stock & Inventory Management
- Unpack, check, and store new deliveries efficiently.
- Stock shelves, fridges, and displays to ensure full availability.
- Implement "first-in, first-out" (FIFO) stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Remove and record out-of-date or damaged stock.
Store Standards & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness on the shop floor, at the checkout, and in stockrooms.
- Ensure all price tags, shelf edge labels, and promotional signs are accurate and legible.
- Enforce security policies, prevent theft, and verify customer age for age-restricted items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Customer-focused: A friendly, approachable, and patient attitude when dealing with the public.
- Maths & Accuracy: Basic numerical skills to handle cash, give change, and manage till balances.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to be on your feet for long periods and safely lift heavy deliveries.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay: £12.21 per hour
