Current Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Building Services and Public Health Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Description:
Coordinate the design and engineering activities on the Pumping Stations and Portal Buildings. Assist and support the Design Manager to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the design
- Conduct technical review of the designer and suppliers/subcontractors design and issue comments review sheets
- Ensure the safety in design is properly implemented
- Coordinate the internal inter-disciplinary review and ensure integration of the design
- Coordinate the suppliers/subcontractors detailed design with the designer to achieve the completion of detailed design in a timely manner and in accordance with the technical assurance process
- Manage and follow the review and approval of the design by the various parties (Employer, Designer, CAT checker, other divisions within BBV, Subcontractors/Suppliers)
- Ensure the compliance of the design works with the project requirements
- Involve in Operation & Maintenance Review, Interface, PRAM and HAZOP meetings and implement the design actions resulting from these meetings
Essential Experience:
- Engineering Degree level or equivalent, ideally in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical and with professional chartership
- At least 10-year experience in the construction industry,
- Over 5-year experience in delivering multi-discipline projects,
- A recognized leader in engineering with experience of at least one project comparable in size and in complexity,
- Experience and confidence to constructively challenge to optimise design solutions which balance project requirements, risks and constraints
- Experience in railway transport systems engineering is recommended.
