Care Worker –

As a Domiciliary Care Worker, you will travel to clients’ homes and provide support based on their individual care plans, ensuring they receive respectful, reliable, and compassionate assistance. This role offers the opportunity to build positive relationships with clients while developing your skills within the health and social care sector.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients in their own homes, including assistance with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and use of mobility equipment in line with moving and handling guidance.
- Assist clients with medication support and administration in accordance with company policies, medication procedures, and individual care plans.
- Prepare meals and support clients with nutrition and hydration according to their dietary needs, preferences, and care plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, promoting independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
- Support individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, mental health conditions, disabilities, and long-term health conditions.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and support plans to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
- Monitor clients’ wellbeing and report any changes in health, behaviour, mobility, or circumstances to the appropriate senior staff.
- Complete accurate daily care records, including care notes, medication records (MAR), and incident reports when required.
- Assist with light household tasks such as laundry, shopping, and maintaining a safe environment where included in the care plan.
- Accompany clients to appointments, community activities, or social outings when required.
- Respect clients’ choices, cultural backgrounds, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and the care coordination team to provide high-quality support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care, healthcare, supported living, or a similar care environment is desirable.
- A caring, compassionate, and respectful approach towards supporting vulnerable adults.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about dementia care, medication support, infection prevention, and health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively during scheduled care visits.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent care to clients.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training, including Care Certificate, safeguarding, moving and handling, medication, and first aid training.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete required employment checks.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable for travelling between client visits.
