Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week:
Between 08.30am – 16.30pm (although this may vary with demands of the role)
Working Days: Monday – Friday
Salary - £32,000 per year
The Role:
As a Specification and Technical Administrator, you will play a key role supporting the Technical Team with food quality, safety and compliance activities. You will be responsible for maintaining product specifications, technical data, regulatory documentation and quality assurance records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This is a hands on technical support role, ideal for someone with experience in food technical or quality environments who enjoys working with product specifications, supplier documentation, SOP's and quality management systems.
Based within the Technical Team, you will work closely with the Technical Manager, Technical Information Manager and the Supplier Assurance Technologist to support the delivery of safe, legal and high quality standard and products.
Main Duties will involve but not limited to:
- To work alongside the technical team and provide support for customer requests and queries.
- Generating and maintaining internal specifications, customer specifications and assisting in the maintenance of the supplier raw materials database.
- Ensure a right first time approach to the specification writing process.
- Assisting in product data, regulatory documents, and quality assurance records
- Update product specifications and coordinating compliance data.
- Liaise with key parts of the business to make sure that raw material and launch information obtained is correct, up to date and approved.
- Monitoring updates in customer policies and legislation, assessing their impact on products and processes.
- Completing SAQs and customer required paperwork.
- Attend Launch meetings as required and providing feedback to the Technical Team.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of specification systems and processes.
- Where applicable, cover for the Specification Technologist and Raw Material Technologist.
- Manage relationships with customers and suppliers
- Support product development team as a user of the specification system.
- Request and work on traceability information alongside the Raw Material Technologist.
- Responding to alerts that affect raw materials and technical requirements.
Experience – Desirable:
- Understanding of food production processes.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality management systems.
- Level 2 Food Safety.
- level 2 HACCP.
Qualifications - Essential:
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Higher education level
