We are looking for Full Time Customs Clearance Co-Ordinators to join our team based in Ashford, Kent.
We welcome applications from both experienced customs clearance professionals and candidates who are new to the industry. Full training will be provided, so if you are organised, motivated and have excellent attention to detail, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
Full-time positions involve rotating 10-hour shifts, including nights and weekends. Based on a four-week cycle, this equates to an average 40-hour working week.
Please note that this is an office-based position and we are unable to offer home working.
Key Responsibilities
As the first point of contact for our customers, you will play an important role in ensuring customs clearances are processed accurately and efficiently.
Your main responsibilities will include:
· Issuing correct transit documents.
· Preparing import and export documentation, including duties and taxes payable.
· Entering details onto specialised customs software.
· Liaising with HMRC, agencies and customers.
· Responding to customer queries and providing a high level of service.
· Carrying out general administrative duties as required.
About you
Full training will be provided so previous customs experience is not essential. We are looking for team members with the following skills and experience:
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels.
· Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
· A positive attitude and a desire to work as part of a team.
· The ability to work independently, organise your workload and meet tight deadlines.
· Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
· Confidence using technology, databases and computer-based systems.
· Good attention to detail and able to identify and report problems.
· Reliable, conscientious and professional approach to work.
