About the Role
The Freemasons of Cornwall (Provincial Grand Lodge of Cornwall) is seeking a reliable, proactive Office Administrator to manage day-to-day operations at our new premises at the Pool Innovation Centre in Redruth. Working as a small team, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised individual looking for a stable, part-time morning role where they can work on their own initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will fall within the general ambit of an office administrator, including but not limited to:
- Communication: Answering telephone queries from Masonic Lodge Secretaries, and assisting members who visit the office in person with their various enquiries.
- Correspondence & Document Production: Producing correspondence on behalf of the Provincial Executive and Secretariat, when required, producing reports, coordinating events, supporting the Cornwall Masonic Charitable Foundation’s Administrator with the general administration of the Charity and other general administrative duties.
- Data & Records Management: Inputting and maintaining membership data onto various operating systems, supporting membership with their enquiries relating to local and national operating systems and maintaining online data and communications, all in line with General Data Protection Regulations.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft 365 is essential, and an understanding of Google Workspace is preferred. Training can be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
- Strong administrative skills with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as collaboratively within a small team.
- Maintain and update databases with high accuracy, ensuring all membership and organisational records are “error-free."
- A naturally methodical worker who instinctively double-checks their own work for consistency and accuracy for spelling, grammar, and formatting before they are sent out.
- Assist the Provincial Secretariat with the management and administration of annual Provincial Events.
- Support the Province with any reasonable administrative duties as and when required.

- Trial Period: 3 months initial trial period.
- Holiday Entitlement: Governed by Government Legislation (holiday dates must fit in with existing staff arrangements and be approved in advance).
