Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth service delivery by efficiently transporting food from the kitchen to guests’ tables. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry, with a keen eye for detail and exceptional guest service skills. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or culinary environments is advantageous, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. Responsibilities
- Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen in accordance with food safety standards and presentation guidelines
- Deliver food promptly and accurately to guests’ tables, ensuring correct orders are served
- Assist with setting up tables and clearing plates to maintain a clean and organised dining area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate service flow
- Support the serving staff by refilling drinks or assisting with guest requests as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas throughout shifts
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when handling reservations or guest inquiries
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to during food handling and delivery processes
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles such as barista, culinary assistant, or hotel staff is desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with guests and team members
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience with food preparation, meal service, or kitchen operations is advantageous
- Delivery driver experience is beneficial but not essential; valid driving licence preferred if applicable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- A friendly demeanour with a focus on guest satisfaction and service excellence
