About the Role
As an Adventure Guide, you’ll lead electric scooter adventures and axe throwing sessions around Charlton Park Estate.
You’ll welcome customers, introduce them to their electric scooters, deliver safety briefings, and guide groups along scenic routes — making sure every guest feels safe, confident, and has an unforgettable experience.
This is a fun, people-focused role that’s ideal for someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys meeting new people, and has a passion for adventure and customer experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Set up equipment before each session
- Greet customers, get them signed in, and deliver safety briefings
- Lead scooter test rides and guide groups along our set routes
- Ensure groups stay safe, engaged, and follow instructions
- Share fun facts, history, and stories about the estate
- Keep the atmosphere fun, relaxed, and safe — even in the rain
- Capture photos and videos during sessions
- Return to base, debrief groups, clean equipment, and complete reports
- Deliver axe throwing instruction and supervise sessions safely
No experience required — full training provided.
There may also be opportunities to guide at our Kingsclere Estate base in Hampshire.
Additional Duties
Often completed between sessions or on quieter booking days:
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Keep the base area, bathrooms, and kit tidy
- Assist with admin, bookings, and paperwork
- Help with social media content
- Answer booking phone calls and messages
- Assist with scooter maintenance
- Help with base repairs, route maintenance, and general DIY tasks
- Provide first aid when necessary (appropriate to your training)
- Assist with marketing, including delivering posters and flyers
- Stay up to date with team training and safety guidance
- Help with other general tasks supporting the business
What We’re Looking For

- Physically fit enough for active work (reasonable adjustments welcome)
- Over 18 years old
- Own transport required to travel to Charlton Park Estate (SN16 9RU)
Bonus Points For
- Full UK driving licence
- First aid training (training available for new staff)
- Mechanical, DIY, or hands-on practical experience
- Experience in guiding, teaching, hospitality, tourism, or customer service
- Marketing, sales, social media, or outdoor activity experience
Hours & Pay
- £14.00 per hour gross (before tax and National Insurance deductions)
- 1 position available (3 days per week)
Possible shift schedules may include:
- Sundays, Mondays, Weds
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Shift schedules will normally begin once fully trained. During the first few weeks, shifts may vary to allow training alongside other staff members.
Alternative days or schedules may be possible for the right candidate.
There will be plenty of opportunities for extra shifts during peak season (mid-July to early September), along with additional overtime opportunities throughout the year.
Typical working hours are usually between 9am – 4/6pm, although earlier starts or later finishes will be required depending on bookings and busy periods.
This is a temporary contract running until 1st September, with the potential for longer-term work for the right candidate, as we operate year-round and recruit for our autumn and winter season.
The Application Process
- Initial interview via phone or Zoom
- Attend a short training session and/or shadow a customer tour at our Charlton Park base
- Begin assisting on tours alongside experienced guides
- Progress into a full Adventure Guide role with full training provided
