About the Role
We are looking for reliable and hardworking Owner Car / Small Van Courier Drivers to join our delivery operation on a self-employed basis.
The role involves completing local deliveries, with all deliveries required to be completed within the same day. Deliveries are not timed, meaning there is flexibility around when you complete your delivery round, provided all drops are completed within the required timeframe.
This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible working hours who has their own suitable vehicle and enjoys working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete allocated deliveries safely and within the same day.
- Plan your delivery route efficiently.
- Handle parcels and goods with care.
- Ensure deliveries are made to the correct address.
- Provide a professional and courteous service to customers.
- Follow all delivery instructions provided.
- Use any required delivery app or electronic proof-of-delivery system.
- Report any failed deliveries, issues or damaged items promptly.
- Maintain your vehicle in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
- Comply with all relevant road traffic and health & safety requirements.
Requirements
- Own a car or small van suitable for courier work.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous courier or delivery experience is preferred but not essential.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Good knowledge of local roads and surrounding areas.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and manage your own time.
- Smartphone with access to required delivery applications.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
Insurance Requirements
Drivers must have the correct insurance in place for courier work before commencing deliveries, including:
- Hire & Reward / Courier insurance suitable for carrying goods for payment.
- Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance providing appropriate cover for the goods being carried.
- Valid vehicle insurance covering the vehicle for the intended business use.
Proof of the required insurance will be required before starting work.
Working Hours & Flexibility
Monday – Saturday
Working hours are flexible. There are no fixed delivery times, allowing drivers to organise their working day around their own schedule.
The main requirement is that all allocated deliveries are completed on the same day.
Pay
£1.00 per completed drop.
Your earnings will depend on the number of drops allocated and successfully completed.
