HGV Class 2 Driver – Long-Term Contract – Doncaster
Taskmaster Resources are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers for an ongoing contract based in Doncaster, working on behalf of a major national client.
This is a long-term Monday to Friday position, with the potential to become temp-to-perm for the right drivers.
Pay Rates
- Standard: £16.45 per hour
- P1: £18.29 per hour
- Unsocial Hours: £19.78 per hour
- P2: £22.51 per hour
- Bank Holiday: £22.51 per hour
The Role
- Monday to Friday work
- Shifts generally between 8–13 hours
- Long-term, ongoing position
- Delivering to regular customer locations
- Drivers will become familiar with customer sites, processes and requirements over time
- Full support while learning the client's systems and paperwork
- Opportunity to work alongside an experienced driver for the first couple of shifts
- Potential temp-to-perm opportunity for drivers who perform well
Assessment & Induction
All drivers will complete a paid assessment, subject to successfully passing the driving element.
The assessment consists of:
- Practical Class 2 driving assessment
- Paperwork and site induction
- Approximately 4 hours in total, depending on completion of paperwork
Drivers who successfully pass will then be considered for ongoing shifts.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid Category C / Class 2 licence
- Hold a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Have a good understanding of drivers' hours and working time regulations
- Be reliable, professional and punctual
- Be comfortable with longer shifts of up to approximately 13 hours
- Be willing to learn new systems, paperwork and customer requirements
