The Governors of Rudyard Kipling Primary School and Nursery wish to appoint a charismatic, highly motivated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant on a fixed term basis (mornings only) from September 2026. This post will be to support children within our school who require individualised, creative and purposeful provision.
Part-time: 16.25 hours per week (8:45am - 12:00pm). Term-time only.
Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
Fixed term: Until 31 August 2027 (in the first instance)
Start date: September 2026

- To work within a team in partnership with the SENCo, class teachers and other colleagues to support the children in reaching their best outcomes
- To dynamically risk assess and manage children’s safety
- To believe in outdoor education and embrace our wonderful grounds and resources
- To follow our Empowerment Approach and School Values to enhance the children’s learning
- To have an understanding of strategies which support SEND learners, such as Just Right, Makaton, Visuals, structure and routine
- To have experience of supporting children with challenging needs and behaviour
- To establish positive relationships with parents and families
