We are currently recruiting for 2 Commercial Insurance Brokers to join our already successful and established financial services practice. We offer a broad range of business and financial services from traditional accountancy to bespoke business advice, specialist taxation services and corporate advice.
Role Purpose
As a Commercial Insurance Account Handler, you are responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
You will act as a key point of contact for clients, insurers and colleagues, ensuring insurance arrangements are managed efficiently, compliantly and professionally. You will support client retention, policy administration and business growth by providing expert guidance, responsive service and effective account management.
You take ownership of client relationships, policy administration and insurer engagement, ensuring clients receive accurate advice, timely support and a positive experience throughout the insurance lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of commercial insurance clients
- Act as a primary point of contact for client enquiries and policy servicing requirements
- Deliver professional, responsive and client-focused support
- Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, risks and insurance requirements
- Support client retention through proactive account management and service excellence
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and policy activity
Policy Administration & Servicing
- Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy amendments
- Prepare and issue policy documentation accurately and efficiently
- Obtain and review quotations from insurers
- Ensure all client records and documentation are maintained accurately
- Support the administration of new business, renewals and existing accounts
- Monitor policy deadlines and ensure timely completion of all activities
Insurance Advice & Market Engagement
- Provide guidance on insurance products, cover options and policy terms
- Support clients in understanding their insurance arrangements and risk exposures
- Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and appropriate cover solutions
- Maintain knowledge of insurance markets, products and industry developments
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and coverage
Claims & Client Support
- Support clients through the claims process
- Liaise with insurers and claims teams to progress claims efficiently
- Keep clients informed throughout the claims lifecycle
- Assist in resolving client concerns and service issues professionally
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all activities comply with FCA regulations and company procedures
- Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements
- Follow all compliance, data protection and financial crime procedures
- Identify and escalate risks, issues or compliance concerns appropriately
- Support the business in maintaining high standards of governance and client care
Team Support & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with Account Executives and wider business teams
- Support colleagues during peak periods and operational demands
- Share knowledge and contribute positively to team development
- Participate in training and continuous professional development activities
- Contribute positively towards team culture and business performance
Skills & Knowledge
- Previous experience within a Commercial Insurance Account Handling or Broking role
- Previous experience working with Acturis desirable
- Good understanding of commercial insurance products and markets
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and administrative capability
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good IT skills and experience using insurance management systems
- Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements
- Cert CII qualification or working towards qualification desirable

Reality of the Role
This is a fast-paced client-facing role within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will be expected to manage multiple client requirements, competing priorities and regulatory obligations whilst maintaining high standards of professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy.
Success in this role requires strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to client service.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
