We are seeking 2–3 dedicated and compassionate Live-In Care Assistants to support a 33-year-old gentleman living in his own accommodation in the Redditch area.
The client has learning difficulties, epilepsy, cerebral palsy (CP), and is partially sighted. He uses an electric wheelchair and requires full support with daily living activities. This is a rewarding opportunity for caring individuals who enjoy building positive relationships and supporting people to live active, fulfilling lives.
The client enjoys being out and about every day and regularly accesses the community. We are looking for enthusiastic staff who are happy to accompany him on outings, encourage social activities, and support his independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
- Supporting the client with daily routines and activities.
- Operating hoisting equipment safely (training can be provided where necessary).
- Accompanying the client on daily community outings.
- Driving the client's wheelchair-accessible vehicle to appointments, activities, and social events.
- Supporting the client to maintain a safe, active, and enjoyable lifestyle.
- Working closely with family members, who are actively involved in the client's care.
- Maintaining accurate records and following care plans and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- Previous experience in care/support work is Highly Desired.
- Comfortable supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while living in the client's home during shifts.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
