Our Service Users all have complex healthcare needs, and therefore this candidate will be happy to undertake extensive in-house and online training. This person will be able to complete moving and handling tasks with ease and have a 'hands on' and 'can do' attitude.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team during the school term, providing vital care and assistance to a young male individual. This role offers an energetic environment where you can make a positive impact on the lives of those requiring support with daily activities, health management, and emotional well-being.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality care tailored to the individual’s needs. Duties
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans, ensuring safety and accuracy
- Administer nutritious meals (via PEG) and assist with feeding as needed, respecting dietary requirements
- Engage clients through meaningful activities that enhance well-being and social interaction
- Follow detailed care plans to deliver personalized support aligned with each individual’s health goals
- Manage behavior and implement strategies for challenging behaviours to ensure a safe environment
- Document observations, updates, and any incidents accurately in client records for case management purposes
Experience - Please note that full training will be given
- Previous experience with Tracheostomy and PEG feed desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care protocols
- Hands-on experience with challenging behavior, especially in older children
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and creating personalized care plans
- Valid driving license will be required
- Strong communication skills combined with a caring attitude and patience for working with vulnerable populations
- BSL desirable but not necessary
