In this role, the Engineer serves as a member of the new Allstate Representative Placement Service (ARPS) product team in the PLT area. The team is tasked with creating a new PAAS-based Service for Agent assignments for ASC policies while supporting any Classic policies until migration is complete. The ARPS Service will be a modern Java / Spring Boot / PAAS hosted version of the existing Windows based Agent Assignment Service in production today. The role requires the successful candidates to practice and be the champion of Outcome Based Delivery utilizing Continuous Integration & Deployment practices.
The Engineer develops applications following 12-factor principles to build out products through continual enhancements using a full stack of software products. In the role you will leverage test driven development, CI/CD, and Allstate developed tools and frameworks to ensure the timely delivery of the new ARPS Product. The Engineer will actively participate in the decision-making process of the Product Teams helping ensure that the most appropriate technology and relevant design is chosen to meet user needs with maintainability and reusability, while working with other team members to create an environment of continuous learning, and constantly challenging and stretching the knowledge of the team.
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for distributed applications.
