Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. Located in the heart of the community, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment and develop your culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with a focus on pizza, grill, sauces, and larder sections.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Contribute to creative menu development and presentation.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff as needed.
- Ensure timely delivery of quality dishes during service hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent guest experiences.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience at Sous Chef level or similar in a casual dining or pub environment.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations with up-to-date certificates.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and team collaboration.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Leadership qualities with supervising experience preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to busy service periods.
- Our menu consists of gastro pub classics and our popular hand stretched Neapolitan pizzas. Dough and pizza skills are a highly desirable skill or the enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly.
We currently have approximately 100 internal covers and 100 external covers in our beer garden. We regularly cater for private dining and events up to 50 covers.
Average 48 hour working week including weekends. Summer service times are 12-8pm Sunday to Wednesday and 12-9 Thursday to Saturday. Salary dependent on experience. only suitable candidates will be contacted.
