Account Manager
Avanti Print & Packaging
Long Eaton, Derbyshire
Office Based | Full Time
A great opportunity to join a small, friendly team and grow with our business.
We’re looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Account Manager to join our small team at Avanti Print & Packaging in Long Eaton.
This is a varied and interesting role where you’ll work closely with our customers and suppliers, helping to make sure everything runs smoothly from placing an order through to delivery.
As a small business, you’ll get to know our customers and suppliers really well and become an important part of the team. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, takes pride in their work and wants to develop a long-term career with us.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day role will be varied, with a strong focus on looking after customers and making sure their orders are handled smoothly.
This will include:
- Looking after existing customer accounts and building great relationships.
- Speaking with customers by phone and email and helping with queries.
- Processing orders and keeping customers updated.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery dates.
- Making sure customer requirements are communicated clearly to suppliers.
- Helping coordinate deliveries and keeping an eye on order progress.
- Contacting customers to confirm deliveries and make sure everything has arrived as expected.
- Raising and checking delivery notes.
- Processing and checking sales and purchase invoices.
- Using Sage and Xero as part of the day-to-day administration.
- Using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Keeping customer and order information accurate and up to date.
- Helping to resolve any issues that arise in a practical and friendly way.
- Supporting the wider team when needed.
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. Full training will be provided, and we’ll give you the time and support you need to learn our systems, customers and way of working.
What We're Looking For
We’re more interested in finding the right person than someone who ticks every single box.
You may already have experience in account management, customer service, sales administration or a similar role, but we’re also happy to consider someone with good transferable experience who is keen to learn.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- A confident and friendly telephone manner.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Experience with Sage and/or Xero would be an advantage.
- The ability to learn new systems and processes.
- A practical and positive approach to solving problems.
- The confidence to speak with customers and suppliers.
- Good commercial awareness.
- A reliable and committed approach to work.
- The ability to manage your own workload and keep things moving.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is happy to get involved and wants to become a valued member of a small, close-knit team.
Why Join Us?
We believe working for a small business should have its advantages.
You’ll enjoy:
- A genuinely relaxed and friendly working environment.
- A small team where you’ll know everyone and play an important part in the business.
- Company bonuses and the opportunity to benefit as the business grows.
- Team days out and social events.
- Lunch breaks where, from time to time, we’ll head to the pub together.
- A supportive team where everyone helps each other out.
- Full training and ongoing support.
- The opportunity to learn, develop and grow within your role.
- A varied position where no two days are exactly the same.
- A great office location in Long Eaton.
- The opportunity to build strong, long-term customer and supplier relationships.
- The chance to take ownership of your role as you become more experienced.
