Dalton Metal Recycling is growing!
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within the metal recycling sector.
The successful candidate will develop new business opportunities, grow existing accounts, manage commercial relationships, and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
This is a commercially focused role suited to an ambitious business development professional with proven experience in the waste, recycling or environmental services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the waste and recycling market.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into profitable new accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Provide support to other Commercial buyers in maintaining and gaining new business.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Develop and implement business development and sales strategies.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts with customers and suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships and support procurement activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, revenue and profitability.
- Monitor industry regulations, sustainability initiatives, market trends, competitor activity and developments across the recycling sector.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information using FRED systems.
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and presentations.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver customer requirements.
- Contribute to the company's wider growth and strategy.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of business development or sales experience.
- Proven experience winning and retaining customers within the waste and/or recycling industry.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
- Experience managing customer accounts and developing long-term commercial partnerships.
- A commercially minded and entrepreneurial approach.
- Strong understanding of sales processes.
- Ability to identify opportunities and convert them into profitable business.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and undertake occasional overnight stays.
- A full UK driving licence.
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
