Are you a passionate and organised cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals for young children? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Cook to join our friendly team in a busy and rewarding childcare environment.
About the Role
As our Nursery Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen management are maintained at all times.
Hours
Full-Time Position
(Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
- Manage food stock, deliveries and kitchen records.
- Cater for children's individual dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances.
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and nursery policies.
- Work efficiently within a fast-paced nursery environment.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent understanding of food allergies, intolerances and special dietary requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a nursery, school, childcare setting or similar environment.
- Knowledge of healthy eating guidelines for young children.
