In this influential role, you will be part of the Governance & Quality team, providing expert support to Registered Managers across the region to achieve compliance targets and maintain excellence across quality dashboards, audits and quality accounts. Working closely with operational leaders, you will help ensure services meet statutory and regulatory requirements, internal policies and quality standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
You will coordinate and support internal audit programmes, monitor compliance performance, analyse quality data and identify opportunities for improvement across services. Through your insight and guidance, you will help services understand performance trends, address areas of concern and implement effective action plans that drive positive outcomes for service users.
As a key member of the Governance & Quality function, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of robust compliance systems, supporting services to prepare for regulatory inspections and ensuring governance processes are embedded effectively. You will build strong relationships with managers and stakeholders, providing advice, support and challenge to help maintain the highest standards of care and service delivery.
Key responsibilities:
Audit & Assurance
- Review the Quality Account weekly to identify Amber and Red areas and alert Registered Managers to these.
- Review service dashboards daily and alert Registered Managers to areas of non-compliance or where they are about to become non-compliant.
- Formulate action plans with Registered Manager to address areas of non-compliance in Quality Account and dashboards, to review these at a minimum of monthly with Registered Manager to monitor progress.
- Managing the audit schedule to ensure all services compete audits within agreed timescales as per the annual corporate and local schedules.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct internal compliance audits across the region.
- Produce detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations and action plans.
Risk & Governance
- Prepare monthly progress reports on Quality Account and Audit compliance for Local Governance meetings across LD&A services.
- Participate in Regional Clinical Governance meetings and provide compliance related reports.
- Monitor trends and provide recommendations for service improvement.
Quality Improvement
- Analyse audit outcomes and compliance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in preparations for regulatory inspections and external audits.
Training & Support
- Provide guidance and support to managers and staff regarding compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports.
- Present audit findings and compliance metrics to individual services and overviews of the region to the Regional SMT.
- Liaise with IM team to address any system errors to correct Dashboard and Quality Account data errors.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Knowledge and Skills
- Computer literate with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel etc)
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills as well as a motivated team player.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate across a range of disciplines with people from a range of backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Able to prioritise and work on own initiative to specific deadlines.
- Able to complete administrative tasks to a good standard
- Able to communicate with service users, visitors and staff at all levels
- Calm under pressure in high-stress or emotionally charged environments.
