What you’ll do
We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our growing Trusts & Estates team in our Bristol office on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone with experience in non-contentious private client work who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and highly regarded team.
Working closely with Partners, fee earners and the wider team, you will play a key role in supporting a broad range of private client matters. The role will have a particular focus on estate administration, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, providing an excellent opportunity to build on existing knowledge while gaining exposure to complex and rewarding work.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the administration of estates, preparing inheritance tax forms and estate accounts, gathering and reviewing asset information, and liaising with executors, beneficiaries and third-party organisations. You will also support the drafting of Wills and LPAs, manage client files, maintain accurate records and assist with the progression of matters from instruction through to completion.
As part of a collaborative team, you will have regular client contact and will work closely with colleagues to ensure a high-quality and efficient service is delivered at all times. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to trust and succession planning matters, gaining exposure to a broad range of private wealth work.
Who you are
Ideally, you will already have experience within a private client team and a strong understanding of non-contentious private client work, particularly estate administration, Wills and LPAs. Experience working in a Paralegal role would be advantageous, although we would also be interested in hearing from candidates with relevant legal support experience looking to take the next step in their career.
You are highly organised, methodical and able to manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail. With strong written and verbal communication skills, you are confident building relationships with clients, colleagues and external contacts, and are able to communicate with professionalism, empathy and discretion.
A proactive approach, strong IT skills and a genuine interest in private client law are all essential. You enjoy working as part of a team, but are equally comfortable taking ownership of your own tasks and progressing matters independently with appropriate supervision.
In return, we offer a supportive and inclusive environment, excellent training and development opportunities, and the chance to build a long-term and rewarding career within one of the firm's key practice areas.
