Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to oversee an EBD Children’s Residential Services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to children and young people. This leadership position involves supervising staff, managing care plans, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the children’s residential service, ensuring smooth operational functioning as part of your role.
- Assist the care staff to ensure that the Young Person's needs are being met
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on best practices in child care
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans for children and young people
- Ensure all care activities comply with legal requirements, safeguarding policies, and organisational standards
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements as necessary
- Support staff training and professional development to maintain high standards of practice
- Assist with managing administrative duties including record keeping, incident reports, and audits
- Liaise effectively with families, social workers, and external agencies to promote the wellbeing of children in placement
- Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety, respect, and inclusion within the service
Requirements
- Proven experience in Children's Residential Services.
- Strong understanding of care planning, medication administration and regulatory compliance within care services
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a residential setting is essential.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff teams
- Compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare
- Relevant qualifications in childcare are mandatory; Level 5 in Leadership and Management is not essential but preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and build positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
