Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to support vessel maintenance, marine equipment, and engineering operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving and wants to develop their career within Edinburgh's maritime and offshore sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot marine engines, propulsion systems and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment faults and complete necessary repairs.
- Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of marine engineering systems.
- Review technical drawings, equipment manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance and replacement parts.
- Work closely with vessel crews, technicians and contractors to complete engineering projects safely.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Previous marine, offshore, shipbuilding or mechanical engineering experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of marine machinery and maintenance procedures.
- Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Pay: £40,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
