Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Class 1 HGV Tramper Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles on long-distance journeys, primarily focusing on deliveries across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to work independently while ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. The position is fully paid and involves continuous driving, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 HGV lorries, across national routes with adherence to all road safety regulations
- Conduct pre-journey inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance standards are met
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring securement of cargo during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules and delays
- Follow all legal requirements related to commercial driving, including tachograph regulations and working hours
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety standards at all times during operations
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and legal requirements for HGV drivers
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to manage long hours on the road independently and responsibly
- Good organisational skills to plan routes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines
- Experience in delivery driving is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
