Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time Night Carer, 2 nights per week, to provide high-quality care and support to individuals during overnight hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing assistance . As a Night Carer, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents through attentive care, effective communication, and proactive support. Your role is vital in creating a secure and nurturing environment during the night shift.
Duties
- Monitor residents or clients throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs during your shift
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, or medication reminders as required
- Maintain detailed records of overnight activities, care provided, and any incidents in care plans or logs
- Communicate clearly with daytime staff regarding residents’ status and any concerns observed during your shift
- Support residents in maintaining their dignity and independence while providing reassurance and companionship
- Conduct regular checks of the environment to ensure safety protocols are upheld and equipment is functioning properly
- Carry out domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry and ironing
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills in English essential to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to use IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes accurately
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures to deliver personalized support tailored to individual needs
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to care environments
- Compassionate attitude with excellent listening skills and patience
