Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Domestic Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization across designated areas, assisting with daily household or facility tasks, and ensuring smooth operations. You will be working across both of our care homes. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute significantly to creating a comfortable space for residents, staff, or visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste disposal to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with laundry tasks such as washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or clothing items.
- Maintain hygiene supplies and restock cleaning materials as needed to ensure availability.
- Support with light maintenance tasks or reporting repairs to appropriate personnel to keep the environment safe and functional.
- Organize storage areas and assist in setting up spaces for events or daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and residents or visitors to address their needs promptly.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to create a secure environment for all.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning, hospitality, or similar roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with team members and residents.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook for record keeping and reporting.
- Computer literacy is essential for managing schedules, logs, and communication tools.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities are a plus for those interested in taking on additional responsibilities or mentoring new staff.
