Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to join our team. This role involves managing daily administrative tasks, supporting office operations, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the organisation. Bookkeeping Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage accounting software
- Process and reconcile purchase and sales invoices
- Manage supplier payments and maintain up-to-date ledgers
- Record and reconcile daily bank transactions and statements
- Manage CIS returns, supplier CIS statements & handle related queries
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with monthly and year-end reporting
- Monitor cash flow and provide regular financial updates to management
- Liaise with our external accountants and internal teams
- Support payroll processing and staff expense claims
Office Administration Responsibilities
- Managing incoming calls with professional phone etiquette and directing enquiries appropriately
- Organising and maintaining files, records, and documentation in both physical and digital formats
- Performing data entry tasks accurately using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace,
- Assisting with scheduling appointments, meetings, and coordinating calendars for team members
- Preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations as required
- Handling mail distribution and managing office supplies inventory
- Providing general administrative support to ensure efficient office operations
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience
- AAT or similar qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential
- Proficient in Sage 50 (essential)
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Highly organised and able to work independently
- Good telephone etiquette and communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
- Driving Licence is needed
- Live within a 10-mile radius of the office
- Hours will be 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday
