Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy culinary establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming environment for both staff and guests while ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and serving processes.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and controlling waste to optimise costs.
- Develop menus in collaboration with the culinary team, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining consistency.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to meet brand standards.
- Implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality experiences to guests.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly to uphold the establishment’s reputation.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong management skills with previous supervising or leadership experience in a culinary setting.
- Extensive restaurant experience with a solid understanding of kitchen operations and management principles.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Experience with culinary techniques and a passion for innovative food presentation.
- Barista experience is considered an asset for roles involving beverage service alongside food management.
