About Us
Fuimus are a multi-discipline property maintenance company based in South East London, covering all corners of London and the M25 corridor. We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor and Gas Safe registered.
Our electrical work mainly comprises small maintenance jobs in privately rented properties alongside EICRs and a small amount of installation work, delivered for managing agents and landlord portfolios.
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced and well-qualified electrician to act as our Qualified Supervisor, taking technical ownership of our NICEIC registration and the quality of everything that leaves the business under it.
This is a fully hands-on, site-based role. You will be on the road across London every day, working independently, carrying out inspection and testing yourself alongside supervising and signing off the work of our engineers.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as the named Qualified Supervisor on the company's NICEIC registration, and being available for the annual assessment
- Carrying out EICRs, periodic inspection and testing, and installation certification across our sites
- Reviewing, verifying and countersigning EICRs, EICs and Minor Works Certificates produced by our engineers
- Providing day-to-day technical supervision of electricians, improvers and apprentices, including on-site sample checks and audits of completed work
- Upholding our standards for inspection, testing and certification in line with BS 7671, the current NICEIC rules and the relevant Building Regulations
- Attending site to investigate and resolve complex faults escalated by the team
- Recording remedial requirements clearly and accurately on site so the office can price and programme the works
- Coaching engineers on site, and supporting the development of those working towards their 2391
- Flagging technical, competence or record-keeping issues to the Technical Director so they can be addressed
Essential
- 18th Edition (BS 7671, current amendment)
- 2391-52 Inspection & Testing (or 2391-50/51, or 2394/2395)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (or recognised equivalent, e.g. City & Guilds 2365 + AM2, or JIB-approved experienced worker route)
- Substantial post-qualification experience of inspection, testing and certification, including EICRs on domestic and residential common parts
- Sound working knowledge of the Building Regulations (including Part P) and current industry guidance
- Confident authoring and reviewing certification to a standard that will stand up to third-party scrutiny
- Able to supervise, mentor and correct other engineers constructively, face to face on site
- Comfortable working independently, managing your own day and travelling between sites across London
- Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25kg
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Previous experience as a named Qualified Supervisor, or of supporting a NICEIC, NAPIT or similar assessment
- ECS Gold Card
- 2382 (BS 7671 course), 2377 PAT, or 18th Edition Design & Verification (2396)
- Knowledge of EV charging units
- Knowledge of fire & security systems
- Experience of digital certification platforms and CAFM systems
- Emergency lighting (BS 5266) and fire alarm (BS 5839) inspection experience
