Responsibilities
- Engage in friendly conversations to provide emotional support and reduce feelings of loneliness
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as reading, writing, or light exercises to promote mental and physical activity
- Support individuals in participating in hobbies or recreational activities that enhance their quality of life
- Observe and report any changes in mood, behavior, or health to appropriate staff members
- Maintain a respectful and compassionate attitude while adhering to confidentiality policies
- Help facilitate social interactions within the community or care setting to foster a sense of belonging
- Use basic IT tools to document visits or update activity logs as required
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen actively and engage empathetically
- Fluency in English or the primary language used within the organization’s community
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Ability to commit to scheduled volunteer shifts with reliability and punctuality
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
