About the role:
Justteachers are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Peterborough that is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis, starting in September.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, leading whole-class lessons when required, and providing targeted interventions to help every pupil achieve their full potential.
This role would suit a confident, proactive, and caring HLTA who enjoys making a meaningful difference in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Lead whole-class teaching and learning during teacher release time and planned absences.
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to support pupil progress.
- Differentiate learning activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all pupils.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform future planning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, carers, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all pupils at all times.
Pre-requisites:
- HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
- A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
- Confidence in leading whole-class learning and supporting pupils across different year groups.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Two recent education-based references.
