Commercial Heating Field Operations Technician / Supervisor

We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Heating Field Operations Technician / Supervisor to support and oversee a team of gas and heating engineers working across commercial and residential properties.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for ensuring engineers complete servicing, repairs, maintenance and installation works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of gas and heating engineers.
- Provide technical advice and assist with fault diagnosis and complex issues.
- Carry out site visits, quality inspections and checks on completed works.
- Monitor engineer performance, KPIs, first-time-fix rates and callbacks.
- Ensure works comply with Gas Safe requirements, current legislation and manufacturer guidance.
- Ensure engineers have the correct parts, equipment and resources.
- Monitor stock, materials and labour usage.
- Ensure job records, certificates and documentation are completed accurately.
- Identify training and development needs within the team.
- Support apprentices and less experienced engineers where required.
- Liaise with customers, clients, managers and administration teams.
- Deliver toolbox talks and promote strong health and safety standards.
- Assist with surveys, estimates and operational planning.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years' relevant gas/heating experience.
- Previous experience in a technical, supervisory or similar role.
- Relevant ACS qualifications, including CCN1, CEN1, WAT1/CENWAT and CPA1.
- Experience diagnosing domestic gas central heating faults.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety and relevant regulations.
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A customer-focused and professional approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and effectively lead a team.
Asbestos Awareness, IOSH Working Safely and additional health & safety qualifications are desirable.
