Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the daily operations of our clubhouse kitchen. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food service, maintaining kitchen standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. This role requires strong culinary skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to providing an excellent dining experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality menu items.
- Supervise kitchen operations during service and ensure food is prepared to established standards.
- Support menu development, seasonal specials, and event catering requirements.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain performance standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, ordering, and cost control.
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
- Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service.
- Assist in catering for clubhouse functions, tournaments, banquets, and special events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
- Culinary qualification or professional cookery certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Experience managing kitchen teams and coordinating service operations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
