Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in busy restaurant environments. As a Grill Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking grilled dishes to high standards, ensuring excellent food safety practices are maintained at all times. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding work areas
- Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal quality and safety
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver timely service
- Manage stock levels of ingredients and notify management of any shortages or issues
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of equipment and food products
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience with meal preparation and serving in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Culinary experience specialising in grilling techniques is highly desirable
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
