Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adults with learning disabilities and autism in a care home setting. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalised support and effective communication. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for implementing care plans, supervising daily activities, administering prescribed medication and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
- Supervise and support residents in engaging in social and recreational activities to promote their well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in their condition.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Accompany residents to appointments or outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or within a care home setting is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience is advantageous, demonstrating leadership skills in managing staff or volunteers.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with residents, families, and team members effectively.
- Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining care records and documentation is beneficial.
