Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Part-time Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. This energetic role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. You will support the culinary team by handling food prep, dishwashing, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet health and safety standards. Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs during service
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, glasses and kitchen utensils efficiently and thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies following safety protocols
- Support the team in setting up and breaking down the kitchen at shift start and end
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to keep the kitchen tidy
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including dishwashing and cleaning procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a culinary setting
- Previous hotel or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills related to food service and hospitality
